Why are most marsupials and all egg-laying mammals found only in Australia and nearby islands? Well, we don’t know for sure. But we do know all of the marsupial kinds were on Noah’s ark and they spread out from the Middle East after the ark landed.

One reason most marsupials ended up in Australia may’ve been because fewer predators migrated in that direction. Also, the terrain favored their migration, or some animals happened to end up on floating mats of vegetation that dropped them off on various islands near Australia.

What we do know is there are ways to get marsupials from the ark to where they live now in just one or two hundred years.
